Approaching 9PM
Following the rhythm.
A new location will appear shortly.
CORI Hornbæk is a new coastal hotel on the Kattegat, built around the extreme light and darkness of 56° north. Its ambition was to make sleep part of the stay’s identity rather than an amenity. MUUN was brought in to design and deliver that layer: the beds and pillow menu in every room, a small set of seasonal sleep rituals, and training so the team can explain how sleep works and why it matters.
Denise Juliussen, Head of Guest Experience, CORI.
The future of hospitality isn't only what guests experience while they're awake. It's how well they sleep. Nighttime wellness should be at the heart of every stay, it is at CORI.
3 in 1 coil system and a cooling Outlast® surface. MUUN MK2 brings support and deep comfort to hotel rooms, tailored to a remarkable guest experience.
Every one of the 82 rooms has a modular mattress with three coil layers, adjustable firmness and a cooling Outlast® surface, so the same room suits a broad-shouldered guest and a smaller frame equally well. Pillows come from an exclusive menu of four: Sally for height, Valentina for softness, Mae for plush hotel comfort and Chiaki for guests who sleep leaning into something. At turndown, an evening supplement MUUNDOSE is left on the pillow as the last touch of the day.
Four MUUN pillows, matched before arrival through a ten-question pillow finder in CORI’s guest questionnaire, or tried in person at reception or the spa during the stay. The aim is simple: the right pillow is in the room before the guest is.
The sleep experiences at CORI are built on the principles of biology first - the body needs light, darkness, temperature and repetition for optimal sleep. Each ritual draws on what the hotel already offers in the extraordinary environment; the plantation, the sea, the light, the darkness. Autumn 2026 opens with the first three sleep experiences, with the pillow menu and evening turndown running year round.

A sunrise walk from the East Terrace into Hornbæk Plantage, before coffee. Guests collect a ginger shot and mint water from a self-service station on the way out, with the day’s sunrise time shown in the room. The simplest ritual on the property, and the one closest to CORI’s location.
A short swim from the harbour jetty, followed by time in the morning light. Guests collect a robe from the spa on the way, so the ritual needs no booking and costs nothing extra. Cold water and early light together mark a clear start to the day.
Sauna and cold plunge in the spa, repeated two or three times, with the Contrast Tray of cucumber and mint water or Nordic herbal tea waiting in the relaxation lounge afterwards. Guests follow the guidance displayed in the spa on their own, so it runs without extra staffing.
A nightly MUUNDOSE evening magnesium, formulated and produced with La Roar, placed by housekeeping beside a folded ritual card at turndown. The card describes an evening routine rather than a promised effect, in line with Danish rules on health claims.

Staff training
Before opening, Certified Sleep Counsellor, Laura Kanadel, and Product Developer/CEO Kristoffer Blom ran a sleep/product workshop on the property with CORI’s leadership team and department heads. It covered the basics of sleep biology, the sleep rituals and products.
